  • BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS American Heart RQI E-Card (BLS AHA-RQI ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE)
  • BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS)
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Two (2) years' experience in acute care required.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and reports equipment malfunctions.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
  • Analyzes images and identifies issues with the quality of images.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure, if clinically appropriate.
  • Performs fluoroscopic examinations.
  • Performs radiographic exams in the operating rooms providing diagnostic x-rays to the surgeons and professional staff on patients that are unable to be x-rayed in the Radiology Department due to incapacity or surgical procedures.
  • Charges appropriately for all supplies used for procedure and utilizes appropriate exam codes.
  • Takes on call shift responsibilities as required by the department.
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually; reports and responds to changes in status, as appropriate.
