Summary: The Multi-Modality Technologist provides diagnostic imaging in multiple specialties in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Minimally 25% of their time is allocated in practicing a secondary discipline.

  • BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS Certification Grace (BLS GRACE) - Employee Grace Period for Essential Credential (GRACE)
  • BLS Cert Red Cross (BLS RC) - Red Cross (RED CROSS)
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Two (2) years' experience in acute care required
  • Must possess two registries by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) to include: Radiography and CT Scan, or MRI.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and reports equipment malfunctions.
  • Charges appropriately for all supplies used for procedure and utilizes appropriate exam codes.
  • Demonstrates flexibility and competency to provide patient care throughout the South Broward Hospital District to a variety of patient populations
  • Performs Diagnostic imaging studies in at least two (2) imaging modalities.
  • Assists with preparation and administration of contrast media or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually; reports and responds to changes in status, as appropriate.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s) taking appropriate action to resolve image quality issues.
  • Enters, transmits and reports scan results.
  • Takes on call shift responsibilities as required by the department.
