Summary: Performs various imaging procedures in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. The Radiology Technologist II must meet all basic criteria for Radiology Technologist I, and demonstrate proficiency in the responsibilities listed below.

Requirements

  • Accredited Program: Radiology (Required)
  • ARRT_American Registry of Radiology Tech (ARRT) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • BLS American Heart E-Card (BLS AHA ECARD) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • BLS Cert American Heart_non ecard (BLS AHA) - American Heart Association (AMERICAN HEART)
  • Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT LICENSE) - State of Florida (FL)
  • Complexity of Work: Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a high pace multi-tasking environment and take appropriate actions.
  • Proficient in complex fluoroscopy exams, also inclusive of pediatric population at sites that performs pediatric fluoroscopy.
  • Minimum two (2) years of Radiology Technologist experience.

  • Advanced ARRT Certifications: i.e., Multi-Modality Certifications in other Imaging Modalities.

Responsibilities

  • Charges appropriately for all supplies used for procedure and utilizes appropriate exam codes.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedure(s).
  • Analyzes images and identifies issues with the quality of images.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patient and repeating procedure if clinically appropriate.
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment and exam to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • Takes on call shift responsibilities as required by the department.
  • When ordered, prepares and administers contrast media and/or medications within scope of practice.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Prepares equipment and supplies.
  • Selects appropriate exposure factors and imaging parameters.
  • Implements safety standards and performs appropriate quality control procedures on equipment.
  • Troubleshoots, resolves, and/or reports equipment malfunctions as necessary.
