This job applies ionizing radiation to oncology patients in accordance with the prescription and instructions of the Radiation Oncologist. It involves maintaining accurate treatment records, processing orders for specific exams required during treatment, acting as a liaison between the physician, patient, and patient's family, and monitoring patients for any adverse reactions during radiation therapy. The role requires providing care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety, and related criteria, appropriate to the ages of patients served in the assigned area. The Radiation Therapist demonstrates professional responsibility and accountability for their own practice.
