About The Position

Radiation Therapist, Cancer Institute -Join our compassionate Radiation Oncology team where you are more than an employee! The Radiation Therapist provides professional duties involved with a variety of technical procedures prescribed by the Radiation Oncologist for the safe delivery of radiation therapy treatments and care to patients.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited radiation therapy program
  • Experience as a radiation therapist preferred
  • ARRT registration in radiation therapy required (or eligible upon hire and attain within one year)
  • Approved CPR or BLS certification required within 90 days

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a radiation therapist preferred

Responsibilities

  • Possesses core knowledge of required Radiation Therapist functions, including scheduling, simulation, patient set-up, and treatment.
  • Demonstrates a functional knowledge of all major components of department equipment.
  • Delivers external beam treatments in an accurate and timely fashion with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Assesses and addresses patient's needs while under treatment.
  • Practices appropriate Radiation Safety procedures.
  • Accurate and timely completion of patient charts according to established standards and procedures.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of standard and advanced treatment calculations and treatment plans.
  • Designs and fabricates blocks accurately and efficiently.
  • Performs Simulation with a high degree of accuracy in a timely fashion with little or no supervision.
  • Utilizes appropriate scripting, barriers, and patient identifiers as required per position.
