About The Position

Radiation Therapist (PRN Days - Michigan City) Franciscan Health Michigan City Campus 3500 Franciscan Way Michigan City, Indiana 46360 The Radiation Therapist follows treatment plans and radiation practices and standards; positions patients for treatment; administers prescribed doses of radiation to specific body parts, using radiation therapy equipment to minimize the risk of damage to organs at risk. This position also educates, prepares, and reassures patients and their families by answering questions, providing physical assistance, and reinforcing physicians' advice regarding treatment reactions or post-treatment care. WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT Plan, manage and direct the coordination of radiation oncology care with the knowledge, quality applicable under the standards and policies of Cancer Center. Provide accurate radiation treatment to patients as prescribed by the radiation oncologist while also developing positive, trusting, caring and professional relationships with patients. Prepare and set up equipment to ensure immobilization, protection and precise treatment. Observe the patient’s progress throughout the course of radiation treatment.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree Radiation Therapy
  • Registered Radiation Therapist (ARRT-RTT) - within 90 days
  • State License - within 90 days
  • Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association - within 90 days

Responsibilities
