The Radiation Therapist is responsible for simulating and delivering a planned course of ionizing radiation, prescribed by the radiation oncologist. This position requires population specific competencies. Adheres to National Patient Safety Goals as appropriate based on the level of patient contact this position requires. Requirements

Graduation from an accredited school of radiation therapy
ARRT-T (ARRT-RADIATION THERAPY) within 12 months of hire
BLS (Basic Life Support) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association OR CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) Issued by American Red Cross or American Heart Association within 30 days of hire
Must be able to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written).

Responsibilities

Delivers a planned course of radiotherapy accurately and effectively following the physician prescription
Assists the Radiation Oncologist in localization using conventional or CT simulators
Assists with patient education and assessment
