About The Position

The Therapist/Clinical Documentation Auditor is a resource to the Radiation Oncologists, Physicists, Dosimetrists and Therapists regarding complete and accurate patient documentation and billing. The incumbent functions as a liaison between staff and coders with the ultimate goal of creating a mutual understanding of the many uses of medical record documentation. The Documentation specialist functions as an expert source of information regarding the impact of documentation on patient care, quality outcome measures, prior authorizations, insurance denials and correct reimbursement. The Clinical Documentation Auditor is responsible for the review of the electronic medical records, notes, dictation and other related documentation to ensure the accurate and timely submission of charges for technical services. The Clinical Documentation Auditor resolves coding issues, provides ongoing feedback to staff and assist as requested, in educational in-services to ensure that pertinent requirements for coding are met. Estimated pay range for this position is $35.11 - $45.64 / hour depending on experience.

Requirements

  • Associates degree is required.
  • ARRT Registered Technologist - Radiation Therapy.
  • Certified as a Radiation Therapist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of CPT and ICD10 Coding, Medical Terminology, Anatomy & Physiology, Charge entry systems and ability to enter charges accurately, Brachyterapy, SRS, Xofigo, Theraspheres, Tomotherapy, TrueBeam, Linear Accelerators and medical documentation requirements.
  • Minimum Required Experience: 2 Years
