About The Position

Geisinger's Cancer Institute is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Radiation Oncologist to join their talented team at Geisinger Wyoming Valley Medical Center in Wilkes-Barre, PA. This opportunity is for both early career and experienced radiation oncology physicians to develop their careers within a well-established and growing physician-led organization. Providers will be part of a collaborative team working with surgical oncology, palliative medicine, hematology oncology, pathology, diagnostic radiology, and behavioral medicine to deliver quality cancer care. As a physician-led organization, Geisinger strives to innovate and lead in cancer care, medical education, research, and administration. The intellectual environment includes the Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine, over 50 graduate medical education programs, and hematology/oncology as well as palliative medicine fellowship programs. The health system has NCI-NCORP designation and is committed to cancer clinical trial participation. Providers have opportunities to get involved with the medical school's innovative education curriculum and collaborate on clinical or informatics research, benefiting patients and the scientific community. Patients also contribute to the MyCode Community Health Initiative.

Requirements

  • Board Eligible/Board Certified Radiation Oncologist
  • Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine
  • Licensed Medical Doctor - State of Pennsylvania

Responsibilities

  • Deliver quality cancer care to patients as part of a collaborative team.
  • Get involved in Geisinger Commonwealth School of Medicine's education program.
  • Enroll patients on clinical trials.
  • Care for patients in the comfort of their communities.
