About The Position

The Radiation Oncology Department at Mountainside Medical Center offers comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care, covering consultation, treatment planning, therapy, and follow-up. The department is supported by a collaborative team including radiation oncologists, medical physicists, certified therapists, oncology nurses, and support staff. This role is part of a Commission on Cancer accredited program, affiliated with the John Theurer Cancer Center, providing access to tumor boards, shared clinical protocols, and academic expertise. The center utilizes advanced treatment capabilities such as external beam radiation therapy, 3D conformal radiation therapy, MammoSite® breast brachytherapy, and cutting-edge radioligand therapies like Pluvicto and Lutathera, delivering specialized cancer care to the local community.

Requirements

Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) from an accredited medical school
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Radiation Oncology
Eligible for licensure in the state of New Jersey, CDS and DEA required
Experience with modern radiation therapy techniques, including external beam therapy, 3D conformal therapy, and brachytherapy

Nice To Haves

Fellowship training in Radiation Oncology preferred
Experience with advanced treatment modalities (SBRT, IMRT, image-guided therapy) is highly desirable

Responsibilities

Play a key leadership role in the Radiation Oncology Department
Participate in the governance of the multidisciplinary cancer program
Provide comprehensive inpatient and outpatient care, delivering the full continuum of services from consultation and treatment planning to therapy and follow-up
Share light call duties with other Radiation Oncologists in the group
