The Radiation/Cancer Center Nurse Identifies the nursing care needs and evaluates the effectiveness of the plan of care for adult and geriatric radiation therapy patients. As a Radiation/Cancer Center Nurse you will: Provides professional nursing care by conducting an initial and ongoing nursing assessment, identifying physical, psychosocial and educational needs to patient’s ongoing radiation treatment. Provides nursing assistance to the Radiation Oncologist in pre-treatment patient consultation and follow-up exams/visits. Instructs patients and significant others regarding treatment related side effects, self-care responsibility therapy procedures, weekly assessments and follow-up care.
