About The Position

This job posting is for a position in the ROC Mobile Radar Section and is open to all Bargaining Unit employees deemed qualified, as determined by the Company, to perform the duties of “Junior Radar Technician” in the Mobile Radar Service Area. Position Requirements: The successful candidate shall possess at a minimum the following qualifications: Two years technical education or relevant military training and two years of radar experience, experience with tracking radar mobile systems preferred. Knowledge of digital, analog, and RF electronic fundamentals and the ability to troubleshoot to the component level. Ability to serve as a Radar team member, assisting other technicians in system operation and maintenance activities; also involved in radar site set-up and tear-down in remote locations. Ability to interpret electrical diagrams including functional block diagrams and schematics. Practical knowledge of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, digital voltmeters, power meters, and signal generators Maintain up-to-date logs and preventative maintenance schedules. Familiarity with PC operations and possesses demonstrable typing skills. Demonstrate mathematical skills necessary to perform basic algebraic operations. Duties will be performed under direct supervision of higher-level technicians. Ensure Company and NASA procedures and policies are followed. The successful candidate mut be able to perform physical tasks that include climbing ladders and towers, work in tight spaces with limited environmental control and lifting 50 lbs. or more. Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance. Foreign and domestic travel is required 40% of the year. A valid U.S. passport may be required for this position. Safety and quality awareness and compliance are required. Shift work may be required. Assignments may change or vary.
