Responsible for performing and monitoring MRI procedures. Under the supervision of the Unit Coordinator MRI, responsible for supervising and performing MRI procedures on as assigned shift. Employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Proficient use of MRI equipment. Uses professional skills to perform high quality MRI procedures on patients of all ages according to established protocol. Reconciles, acquires and processes images in the Radiology PACS setting. Provides explanation and education to patients and family members. Screens patients for special problems that prohibit use of MRI. Prepares room with supplies and equipment necessary to complete procedure. Conducts daily calibration and QC measures as required. Prepares patients and administers contrast media as required. Applies appropriate functions and applications within the Radiology Information System (RIS). Contributes to a positive work climate and the overall team effort. Performs related responsibilities as required or directed. Contributes to a positive work climate and the overall team effort of the department and maintains a "CAN DO" attitude Provides safety education to high risk department such as respiratory care, security, environmental services and maintenance. Performs related responsibilities as required or directed. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Skills and proficiency in the technical field of Radiologic Technology. Such proficiency is acquired through completion of a formal education program in Radiologic Technologic (ARRT) that is accredited by AMA. Consistently smiles and is pleasant to patients, visitors and co-workers. Cheerfully adheres to and promotes the "Quality Plus" and departmental "Service Excellence" expectation standards. LICENSURE, REGISTRATION, CERTIFICATION: Current CPR certification. Registered or registry eligible with ARRT but must be registered with ARRT within one year of employment. EXPERIENCE: Proficiency in performing MRI.
