About The Position

The Staff Physicist works within the Department of Radiation Oncology, reporting to the Chief of Physics and operating under the guidance of the Director of Clinical Physics and Medical Physicist Ld. This role involves performing and reviewing all aspects of radiotherapy patient and equipment related planning and quality assurance. The primary responsibility is to ensure the best possible treatment for patients in Radiation Oncology. Additionally, the Staff Physicist's responsibilities will encompass clinical service, research/development, and education/training, as assigned by the Chief of Physics and Director of Clinical Physics.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or PhD degree in physics, medical physics or related field or Doctorate of Medical Physics or demonstrated equivalency through experience
• Listed as an Authorized Medical Physicist (AMP) on a Nuclear Regulatory License (NRC)
• Certification in therapeutic medical physics (or therapeutic radiological physics or radiological physics) by either: American Board of Radiology or American Board of Medial Physics
• Must complete certification within three years of hire or must be classified as an AMP by the NRC

Nice To Haves

• Completion of a CAMPEP approved Medical Physics residency program in Radiation Oncology
• 1 – 2 years’ experience in a related field
