About The Position

Reporting to the Radiology Manager, this position will maintain ~60% clinical duties, with the remainder of time spent in coordinating departmental operations and providing guidance to staff. Essential Functions Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the values of Jefferson. Operates imaging equipment for diagnostic and/or therapeutic purposes Monitors patient condition during imaging procedures, alerting the physician of any complications. Provides radiologists with high-quality images to aid in diagnosis Complies with all imaging safety regulations Properly positions patients and imaging equipment prior to procedures. Administers oral or injected contract prior to procedures when necessary. Creates and maintains reports regarding patient data and radiologic treatment records Responsible for maintaining high quality imaging procedures produced by staff technologists. Conducts on-going reviews to ensure quality of work, including conducting reviews for Quality Assurance reports. Responsible for precepting new staff, developing staff and facilities to meet new and existing needs Organizes and coordinates services provided, oversees operations in accordance with hospital’s policies and procedures Monitors and controls patient flow to optimize unit productivity. Assures that departmental policy and procedure standards are implemented in all aspects of operation. Assists with departmental staffing schedules in order to ensure appropriate turnaround times are consistently maintained

Requirements

  • Radiology Knowledge of radiography tools, techniques and applications, ability to utilize imaging technology on patients for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes.
  • Image Production and Evaluation Knowledge of radiographic equipment and processes, ability to use this knowledge to review and evaluate images generated in order to ensure their adequate quality for diagnostic activities.
  • Medical Equipment Management Knowledge of the equipment used in clinical diagnosis, treatment and monitoring, ability to select, procure, maintain, and quality check and dispose of medical equipment in compliance with related policies.
  • Coaching Others Knowledge of coaching concepts and methods, ability to encourage, motivate, and guide individuals or teams in learning and improving effectiveness
  • Radiology Safety Knowledge of radiation safety regulations, principles, techniques and nuclear materials handling, ability to apply this knowledge to resolve safety issues
  • Radiology Policy and Ethics Compliance Knowledge of radiology and applicable laws and regulations governing proper materials storage, handling and disposal as well as radiology-related conduct, ability to demonstrate ethical behavior in diverse situations.
  • Teamwork Understanding of the necessity and value of teamwork, ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Quality Management Knowledge of and ability to apply appropriate policies, procedures and management methods to maximize operating room efficiency and productivity
  • Associates degree may apply. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of related experience
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • ARRT, RDMS, or NMTCB required.
  • Obtain IV certification as necessary and administer contrast agent as required
