About The Position

Hendrick Motorsports is seeking an experienced RACE Engine Block - Cleaning / Wash Technician. Summary: This position consists of cleaning and inspecting engine blocks. This cleaning process utilizes hand tools, power drills, and high-pressure cleaning equipment.

  • Requires vision (near, distance, depth), sense of touch, and ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) – safety glasses, hearing protection.
  • Constantly manually manipulates, squats or kneels, bends, lifts/carries up to 20 pounds, and pushes/pulls 12 pounds or less.
  • Frequently stands, walks, sits, reaches outward, reaches above shoulder, lifts/carries up to 50 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 25 pounds.
  • Occasionally climbs, crawls, lifts/carries up to and over 100 pounds, and pushes/pulls up to 100 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical training in automotive manufacturing a plus
  • Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.
  • Must be able to work a flex schedule as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for shop and break room clean-up, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, and scrubbing.
  • Responsible for cleaning engine blocks that have been routed to the cleaning department after the engine has been disassembled.
  • Responsible for removing grease build-up, corrosion products, etc., as well as preparing blocks for the next overhaul step using various cleaning compounds and chemical solutions, spray guns, brushes, etc.
  • Responsible for operating Storm Vulcan and Stingray block washing machines.
  • Completes forms associated with work assignments according to established procedures.
  • Responsible for the completion of assigned shop tasks and projects, including providing support to other technicians to complete necessary work in a timely manner.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and neat work environment through proper housekeeping and organization.
