Join our team. #CloroxIsThePlace Glad is seeking as Extrusion Senior Technician to support the development of next-generation trash and waste management solutions. This role is ideal for a creative problem-solver who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is passionate about operating, maintaining, trouble shooting and optimizing extrusion equipment. This role requires hands on mechanical experience, strong tool proficiency, and the ability to diagnose and resolve issues on pilot plant and industrial-scale machinery. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, committed to safety and thrives in a collaborative R&D environment. The job is located in Willowbrook, IL and the candidate is required to be onsite, 5 days a week. Opportunity for overtime, as business need supports.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in extrusion, prefer blown films. Or 4+ years of experience in extrusion plus an associates or bachelor’s degree in a technical field. Industrial or large equipment experience is a must.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools, equipment, films, and other materials.
  • Experience working with, maintaining and troubleshooting industrial-scale equipment.
  • Basic computer skills and ability to use Microsoft products (Excel); willingness to learn online inventory management system.
  • Safety focus. Demonstrated ability to identify, communicate and address concerns.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb stairs and occasionally carry 20 lbs. bucket up stairs.
  • Ability to think creatively and adaptively in fast-changing environments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively with diverse teams.
  • Excellent problem-solving and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Equipment Operation: Work with team to operate extrusion equipment to support R&D trials. Includes equipment operation and maintenance, material management and staging, loading and unloading rolls, cores, resins and other materials, troubleshooting issues and creative problem-solving to address challenges within trials.
  • Documentation: Document process settings and adjustments, capture data and enter into data management system, review and adjust run plans.
  • Inventory management: Ordering and tracking of raw materials and finished rolls, moving materials from on-site warehouse to production area and tracking materials within inventory system.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with R&D scientists and other pilot plant technicians to deliver results and trouble-shoot process.
  • Safety: Drive safety first mindset. Maintain a safe, organized work environment, including completion of housekeeping tasks to ensure efficient work area.
