About The Position

Kubota is transforming vehicle automation and deploying IoT devices on vehicles with a vision to support one million daily users by 2030. As Manager of R&D - Cloud you will lead a team of cloud engineers to design, develop, and deploy scalable cloud solutions to support Kubota's vision for telematics and machine automation. PRINCIPAL ACTIVITIES: This position does the following in accordance with all applicable Federal, State, and local laws / regulations and the Company's policies, procedures, and guidelines.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's in computer engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related field required. Master's degree preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in software or cloud development.
  • Proven experience architecting and deploying cloud-based solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps tools (e.g., Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins).
  • Prior management and project leadership experience required.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

  • Experience in Agriculture or Construction industries preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and mentor a team of Cloud Software Engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop full stack cloud solutions for telematics and machine automation projects.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across IT, security and business units to identify opportunities for cloud adoption and optimization
  • Drive decision making for cloud service architecture.
  • Collaborate with program management, systems, and architecture engineers to ensure alignment with requirements.
  • Ensure system scalability, reliability, and performance through automation, monitoring, and best practices in DevOps and CI/CD.
  • Implement cloud governance frameworks, cost management strategies, and security best practices.
  • Assist in organizing teams and resources to complete proof-of-concept and commercialization programs and projects.
  • Create demonstrations/presentations for all levels within the organization.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation.
  • Mentor and lead team members to follow a set of Engineering Process Guidelines contributing to high quality project outcomes.
  • Manage vendors needed to complete project assignments.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by management.
