About The Position

TO GAIN EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A DYNAMIC FOOD COMPANY BY APPLYING SKILLS LEARNED IN FOOD SCIENCE. TO WORK INDEPENDENTLY ON ASSIGNED PROJECTS AND TASKS, AS WELL AS ASSISTING TEAM ON ADDITIONAL PROJECTS.

Requirements

  • BS or MS in Food Science required or in progress of degree at an accredited college.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and tasks on a daily basis.
  • Excellent problem solving and communication skills.
  • Excellent mathematical skills and knowledge of, or ability to learn, statistical analysis required.
  • Computer literacy including competency with Microsoft Office and demonstrated ability to operate complex software programs required.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading, and writing English required.
  • Good work ethic, responsible individual.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in a food manufacturing environment a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support design of new products based on targeted flavor profile, texture, color, shelf life and nutritional content while maintaining adherence to government and industry standards.
  • Assist pilot and commercial scale up trials.
  • Complete assigned analytical work
  • Maintain good records and keep lab area in a clean and organized manner. Work on independent projects proactively.
  • Responsible for food safety and food quality of samples handled by: 1. Following GMP’s, maintaining sanitary conditions, adhering to safe work practices, and ensuring that product quality is maintained.
  • Reporting any conditions or practices that may adversely impact food safety, food quality or personal safety to supervisor.
  • Maintains consistent attendance; must have flexibility to work extended hours or off shifts if required.
  • All other duties as assigned.
