This Is Not a “Follow-the-Checklist” Job We’re looking for an R&D Engineering Technician who thrives in creative problem-solving, enjoys experimenting, and isn’t afraid to challenge assumptions. You’ll work alongside engineering, production, and sales to help design, test, and refine custom, innovative solutions that actually get used in the real world. This role is perfect for someone who wants to grow—technically, professionally, and creatively.

Requirements

  • Have 1–3 years of hands-on experience in an engineering or manufacturing environment
  • Enjoy working with electrical components, control systems, and fabricated assemblies
  • Think creatively, troubleshoot naturally, and don’t stop at “good enough”
  • Are reliable, self-motivated, and take pride in your work
  • High school diploma or higher education.
  • Must have electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing with internal and external personnel.
  • Ability to operate miscellaneous hand tools
  • Ability to utilize standard measuring equipment (ruler, calipers, micrometer, etc.)
  • Ability to take direction and complete projects without significant oversight

Nice To Haves

  • Want to grow into a role that includes design ownership, 3D concepts, BOMs, and PLC programming
  • Ability to use CAD software design capabilities plus
  • Familiarity with Syteline (ERP) system a plus
  • Knowledge of metal, plastic and rubber products a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Build and test prototypes, fixtures, and custom solutions
  • Design and assemble electrical control systems using motors, relays, PLCs, drives, sensors, power supplies, and more
  • Use CAD software and 3D printing to turn ideas into tangible results
  • Read, modify, and improve mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
  • Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing, sales, and even customers to solve real problems
  • Support new product development, lean initiatives, and continuous improvement
  • Occasionally travel to customer or supplier sites for hands-on technical support
