The Gund Company: Take Care of Each Other, Take Care of the Customer and Take Care of the Business Job Summary Job Summary: This individual will be the respond to all product compliance requests in a timely manner and be responsible for the technical content of the information provided. This technician will be responsible for the product compliance for TGC. The R&D Process Technician will also act as a liaison between the operations process, engineering development, and vendor suppliers for the development of new products. They will collaborate with the R&D Engineer to support development efforts.

Requirements

  • BS Engineering Degree
  • Project planning and report writing
  • Experience in a documentation or coordinator role (quality, purchasing, compliance, or manufacturing).
  • Strong organization and follow-up skills; comfortable managing high email volume and multiple requests.
  • Microsoft Office skills (Excel, Outlook, SharePoint); able to maintain trackers and records.
  • Basic English for email communication with global teams/customers; Detail-oriented and able to handle customer-facing documentation accurately.
  • Ability to communicate well with all levels of the organization, customers and suppliers.
  • Outstanding analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects in a timely, cost-effective manner
  • Excellent report writing skills
  • Strong problem-solving skills for processes and equipment
  • Strong written communication skills, both technical and non-technical
  • Works well with people and is comfortable leading teams

Responsibilities

  • Support product regulatory compliance across TGC products and global sites.
  • Request, track, and maintain vendor declarations (RoHS, REACH, SVHC, PFAS, EPA, etc.). And follow up until received.
  • Organize compliance files for raw materials and finished products (clear naming, version control).
  • Maintain trackers for requests, receipts, and customer inquiries.
  • Provide compliance documentation to customers and upload to portals (e.g. Assent).
  • Support UL, CE, and other certification documentation.
  • Coordinate compliance testing as needed (work with international labs/certification bodies, track sample status, collect reports).
  • Support internal and external audits by pulling documentation
  • Monitor global regulatory changes and flag gaps or risks.
  • Own a SharePoint “Compliance Hub” (document library + simple status view showing what we have vs. missing, gaps/risks, and yearly metrics).
  • Perform capability analyses regarding the behavior of tools and fixtures within the process.
  • Collaborate with production to improve current devices and fixtures, making processes more robust.
  • Create reports based on data analysis.
  • Manage and assist with the installation and implementation of new equipment, tools, and processes, including operator training and customer service training for quoting purposes.
  • Support the transfer of new products and processes to routine production.
  • Participate in the improvement of Non-Conforming Materials, Corrective Actions, Rework, and On-Time Delivery.
  • Identify common causes and implement preventive actions.
  • Contribute to the gross profit review process to drive margin improvements through process efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities for standardization; develop standards and graphical instructions, and train team members on new standards.
  • Create and maintain process instructions and documentation.
  • Design GO/NO-GO gauges.
  • Assist with Kaizens and A3 improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate the ability to solve problems through data analysis.
  • Provide project follow-up based on A3 and action plans previously scheduled.
  • Perform testing on materials using laboratory equipment.
  • Collaborate with production to machine parts to be done for RD requirements or test specimens.
  • Assist other facilities on the CAD – CAM support.
  • Assist on the programing of the 3D scanner Problem solving skills including Lean Tools such as 8D, 5 Why, DMAIC
