About The Position

Support and execute testing of a variety of HVAC products and equipment. Essential Responsibilities/Activities: Support daily laboratory operations during standard work hours, with flexibility to accommodate extended hours as project demands require. Adhere to all established safety policies and procedures applicable to laboratory and production environments. Demonstrate working knowledge of HVAC&R systems and related mechanical and electrical components. Independently locate and interpret technical documentation, including parts lists, drawings, wiring diagrams, and submittals. Read and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, installation instructions, and performance criteria. Provide guidance and mentorship to technicians and team members on routine technical matters. Conduct engineering tests and experimental evaluations within laboratory and production floor settings. Collaborate with R&D Lab Supervisors and Engineers to develop test plans and estimate required testing duration. Support laboratory engineers and technicians during equipment setup, instrumentation, and data acquisition to ensure accurate and repeatable results. Troubleshoot functional and performance issues in HVAC equipment, escalating complex matters as appropriate. Maintain a foundational understanding of applicable industry standards, including UL, AHRI, and ASHRAE requirements relevant to HVAC testing and construction. Utilize laboratory instrumentation, diagnostic meters, hand tools, and data acquisition software as part of daily responsibilities. Perform effectively in both team-based and independent work environments across multiple concurrent projects. Fabricate and assemble test fixtures and apparatus, including mechanical piping, electrical wiring, and light carpentry as required for laboratory validation activities. Education and Experience Requirements: Minimum 2-3 years in the HVAC industry or equivalent experience in a similar industry. Education or experience beyond the minimum is an added advantage for career development. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 products: Excel, Word, Teams. Outlook, PowerPoint Pay and level are commensurate based on experience. Essential Mental Function: Demonstrates strong leadership and the ability to positively influence team performance. Communicates clearly and professionally in both written and verbal formats. Maintains effective interpersonal skills and collaborates constructively across cross-functional teams. Manages multiple priorities effectively while maintaining quality and schedule commitments. Performs effectively in both independent and team-based work environments. Maintains composure and productivity in fast-paced, deadline-driven settings. Essential Physical Functions: Lift up to 50lbs. Ability to work in adverse testing conditions with elevated temperatures and humidity's.
