About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: The R&D Culinary Coordinator provides administrative support to the Culinary teams and is responsible for companywide documentation into operationally executable programs by ensuring systems integration, training materials, and implementation tools are complete, accurate, and aligned to enterprise standards. This role requires the ability to integrate and manage data across multiple enterprise systems, including Oracle and Logile’s Fresh Item Management system, ensuring accurate item setup, costing, documentation, and execution standards for all fresh food programs. As an active contributor within the Research and Development function, this individual partners cross functionally with Retail Operations, Category Management, Marketing, Information Technology, Training, and Commissary Operations to ensure fresh food programs are thoroughly developed, documented, and successfully executed at store level. This role requires strong organizational discipline, attention to detail, and the ability to drive complex initiatives from concept through launch. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : The essential duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: Assist R&D team in development of all tools to support menus, recipes, processes, standards and training materials for fresh food departments through NG systems Ensure close collaboration with all fresh food departments, IT, ops, training and merchandising in completing all actions required for implementation of products and programs Maintain and manage recipe, ingredient, and production data within the Oracle ERP system (commissary) Coordinate all Innovation and culinary committee activities and all tasting planes; attend product cuttings and document all metrics, logs, pictures, and procedures and keep all records organized and up to date Assist as needed with vendor relationships in outsourcing products; coordination; data, ordering; moving products through NG systems in coordination with both the R&D and Prepared Foods teams Assist in developing training materials and maintain all job aids, processes, recipes, and practices and reports required for implementation of fresh foods programs Ability to recognize deficiencies and reorganize workload to be as efficient and effective as possible Ensure all company, state and federal regulations are met in all aspects of products, materials, documentation and overall performance of R&D POSITION REQUIREMENTS AND CONDITIONS: Education/Experience Experience with creating documents, presentations and reports Preferred experience in various fresh departments; knowledge of terminology desired Knowledge of Northgate systems such as category analyzer and tableau or similar software – highly preferred Certificates/Licenses/Registrations Food Safety certificate – training will be provided if not already certified. Skills Required Must have good writing/editing skills. Attention to detail/conscientious as work is high profile Excellent organizational skills; must be able to multi-task Able to work in a fast-paced environment; able to work independently with minimal supervision Teamwork, communication, organization, and leadership skills Must have sufficient math skills to understand the measurements and prices for each product Ability to speak, read, write, analyze, interpret and understand the English and Spanish language with sufficient proficiency in order to read and understand: o Prepare training materials, recipes, presentations and other documents as required o Instructions for operating electronic equipment and tools o Company handbooks, policies and procedures and other job related documents Computer skills including Microsoft Office, Excel; the ability to compose and write reports, business correspondence, and effective departmental memos including "menus," and customer signs or sales suggestions Requires strong interpersonal and motivational skills Has the perseverance and the ability to drive complicated projects to a successful conclusion Ability to deal with ambiguity and effectively cope with change Ability to adapt and seek clarification Ability to work a flexible schedule; some travel to stores and suppliers as required Be able to pass a standard drug test and qualify as being drug free under the legal and medical guidelines permitted by the Drug Free Workplace Act of 1988.
