About The Position

603 Manufacturing, a leader in high-reliability cable and wire harness assemblies, supports mission-critical industries including aerospace, defense, medical, and industrial markets. With a commitment to quality, precision, and on-time delivery, we are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Cable and Wire Harness Quoting Engineer to join our growing team. The Cable and Wire Harness Quoting Engineer plays a key role in the pre-production process, responsible for evaluating customer drawings, specifications, and requirements to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for cable and wire harness assemblies. This position interfaces closely with engineering, procurement, and sales teams to ensure quotes are technically sound, cost-effective, and align with customer expectations and 603 Manufacturing’s capabilities.

Requirements

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field – or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in cable and wire harness quoting or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of cable and wire harness design and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Experience with ERP systems and quoting tools (e.g., Epicor, etc.).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze customer RFQs (Requests for Quotes), drawings, and specifications for cable and wire harness assemblies.
  • Interpret complex engineering documentation, BOMs (Bills of Materials), schematics, and product specifications.
  • Develop accurate cost estimates by calculating labor, material, tooling, and overhead costs.
  • Collaborate with purchasing to obtain supplier pricing for components and materials.
  • Identify manufacturing methods and provide recommendations for cost-effective and efficient assembly solutions.
  • Prepare and submit detailed quote packages, including labor routing and cost breakdowns.
  • Work with internal teams to ensure quoting aligns with manufacturing capabilities and capacity.
  • Communicate with customers and sales representatives to clarify technical and commercial requirements as needed.
  • Track quote status and assist in quote-to-order handoff processes.
  • Other responsibilities, initiatives and ad-hoc projects as required.
