About The Position

Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Technician requires a general knowledge and understanding of laboratory testing procedures and functions, sanitation policies and procedures. Must follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP'S) and work in a manner consistent with all Corporate, regulatory, food safety, quality and sanitation requirements, along with other duties as assigned. This position involves performing physical testing on raw eggs and finished product, utilizing test results for product packaging in accordance with customer or company specifications. Responsibilities also include training new technicians, calibration and maintenance of lab equipment, inventory and ordering of lab supplies and replacement parts, and general housekeeping. The technician will follow safety policies as required by Vital Farms and maintain GMP's. They will manage hand washing stations (soap dispensing and inventory) and footbaths, manage chemical inventory (dispensing, tracking utilization, and replacement), verify and maintain pH levels on wash tanks, manage and run CIP circuits, titrate chemicals on egg and flat washers, and maintain egg waste, spills, and clean-ups while adhering to plant cleanliness policies. Recording and documenting corrective actions, performing special projects, and conducting audits of inbound, outbound, raw materials, and other processes are also part of this role.
