About The Position

Quanex is looking for a Quality Technician - 2nd shift to join our team located in Owatonna, Minnesota. This position utilizes appropriate experience and technical training, under the direction of the Quality Manager, to provide quality support throughout all processes included in the Shop Floor Operations. The hours are Monday – Thursday 3:30pm - 1:30am. We Offer You! Team-Oriented Environment Ability to Make an Impact Drive Improvement What Success Looks Like: Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Management to process nonconforming materials. Monitor Corrective Action Reports to ensure adequate progress is made in achieving corrective actions. Verify the effectiveness of the corrective actions. Audit company processes to ensure compliance with established standards. Collect and compile data, analyze data, and complete various quality reports for internal use and upon customer request. Evaluate and recommend changes to process specifications and product specifications based on defect data and customer complaint information to ensure consistency and efficiency. Train employees on the Quanex quality system, including documentation, procedures, measurement techniques, and appropriate sampling frequencies.

Requirements

  • Must be reliable, cooperative, and a self-starter.
  • Knowledgeable of measurement tools and techniques.
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems; SAP.
  • Ability to read and understand; BOMs, part drawings, control plans, and other production related documentation.
