About The Position

RFA Engineering ( www.rfamec.com ) is an engineering service provider dedicated to delivering our clients with timely engineering support and expertise. We are seeking an experienced candidate to become an integral part of our engineering team. The selected candidate will work with an experienced engineering staff on products used throughout the work in the oil and gas industry. This position will be located onsite at our customer's engineering and manufacturing facility in Statesboro, GA. Quality Technician As a Quality Technician, you will be responsible for measurement accuracy, calibration control, and gage availability for production. You will work closely with the engineering, manufacturing and production teams to support products through production. This role is a floor-based quality inspector responsible for full-time inspection support and ownership of the gage management system. The position is intended for an experienced machinist / quality inspector with strong hands-on measurement capability.

Requirements

  • High School Education – Technology degree a plus
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings
  • Strong problem-solving skills in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Prior CNC operation (2+ years)
  • Calibrating gaging hand tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.) 2+ years

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the Gas & Oil industry a plus.
  • CAD Experience is a plus.
  • Prior experience operating CMM or Faro arm

Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate measurements by inspecting and calibrating machine gage and equipment and keeping the gage system database current.
  • Perform and support in-process and incoming inspections on the shop floor, confirming product conformance using hand gages, CMM, and Faro Arm.
  • Support engineering and manufacturing problem-solving by measuring, inspecting, and helping determine root cause using gages and advanced measurement tools where available.
  • Learn plant requirements for final inspection and serve as backup to the lead inspector for outgoing products.
  • Continuously improve how measurement tools are controlled, stored, and used across production.
  • Approximately 1 hour per day of desk work, the remainder is conducted on shop floor.
