About The Position

Position at Lincoln Industries of Minnesota Job Title: Quality Technician - 4 Day Work Week SUMMARY: Assists customers, internally and externally in meeting quality requirements. This involves leading quality improvements related to customer returns, scrap and yield. The person will also be involved in driving issues to root cause, gathering data for analysis, updating documentation and inspecting product defects. The person will also be responsible for all aspects related to quality testing and inspecting. WAGE TYPE : Salary $50,000 - $65, 000 FLSA Exemption: Exempt ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES : To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Lead quality improvement efforts in various areas in the plant. Perform First Article Inspection Reports (F.A.I.R) for component parts and assemblies. Interact and assist Supply Management and Integration with PPAP’s (Production Part Approval Proc ess) Troubleshoot and root cause analysis of quality issues related to new and existing products . Operate FARO Arm to inspect tubing and other various parts . Perform process capability and Gauge Repeatability and Reproducibility (R&R) studies as required. Work with Project Managers/Engineers and Operations on quality issues. Verify, train, and audit PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) and Control Plans as needed. Ensures quality level of all incoming parts and materials including outside contr acting. Monitors and maintains QC tool inventory, performs scheduled calibrations and initiates tool and equipment repair requests. Participate in Continuous improvement teams as necessary Inspect parts from various departments either on or off the production lines for various aspects of plating, assembly and packaging. Develop new Visual Work Instructions for Operations using PowerPoint and other electronic documents Conduct product and process audits to determine conformance to requirements and maintain a ll audit records. Provide training and support in classroom or incidental basis as needed. Could potentially encounter hazardous chemicals Any other tasks as required fulfilling the Lincoln Industries Beliefs and Drivers ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE: Reports to : Engineering Manager QUALIFICATIONS : The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be substituted for the expected levels of education and exp erience required. Education and/or Experience: Expected: High school diploma or GED Experience using various measuring and test equipment (micrometer, caliper, dial indicators, etc.) Able to read/interpret blueprints and understand customer and engineering specifications. Ability to prioritize and work well under pressure. Pre ferred: Associated degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school. Experience with Faro Arm or CMM inspection equipment Experience using CAD software (Solidworks, P roEngineer) Understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensions and Tolerancing) Ability to use precision hand measuring equipment Communication Skills: Must be able to read, write and comprehend the English language in order to communicate well with our vendors, internal suppliers and interpret invoices. Ability to read and analyze technical procedures, control plans and government regulations. Must be able to communicate effectively over a telephone, via email or in person. Other Skills: Basic Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions . Ability to solve practical problems and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Troubleshooting/Problem Solving abilities related to various plating techniques. Working knowledge of standard inspection techniques. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Experience using various measuring and test equipment (micrometer, caliper, dial indicators, etc.)
  • Able to read/interpret blueprints and understand customer and engineering specifications.
