Job Purpose ABSL is seeking a full time Quality Technician to monitor manufacturing processes by performing inspections and testing of product and equipment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma w/ 0-2 years’ experience as quality inspector/technician in high-reliability company, preferably in the aerospace or medical industry OR associates degree w/ no experience.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere as a contributing member.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. in accordance with OSHA requirements.
  • Attention to detail and ability interpret engineering drawings and procedures.
  • Able to occasionally travel to support off-site processes.
  • Ability and experience utilizing magnification aids to perform inspection tasks.
  • Ability to obtain the following, off-site, NASA/IPC certifications including vision far, near, and color testing to NASA 8739 series requirements:o NASA 8739.1 NASA Conformal Coating & Staking (Polymerics Inspection)o IPC-620 w/ Space Addendum (Cable, Harness and Crimp)o IPC J-STD-001 w/Space Addendum
  • Computer competency (proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, electronic travellers, etc.).

Responsibilities

  • Reports to Quality Technician Supervisor.
  • Performs quality control inspection of hardware to aerospace standards, drawings and work instructions.
  • Performs QMS systems checks to ensure compliance with documented facility procedures.
  • Performs peer checks for manufacturing and test technicians.
  • Performs material kit checks to verify correct materials and material traceability.
  • Ensures all build and test documentation is completed correctly.
  • Ensures all necessary paperwork and processes are completed following a non-conformance incident to allow build to continue.
  • Conducts random “audits” of build and test books to ensure compliance to procedures.
  • Performs final close-out of build and test books.
  • Performs durometer testing.
  • Performs incoming inspection of all purchased parts and associated paperwork.
  • Have the ability to obtain off-site NASA certification for Soldering, Conformal Coat and Harnessing.
  • Other duties as assigned by Quality Manager or Quality Inspection Supervisor.
