About The Position

The Quality Technician supports manufacturing operations by inspecting steel reels and miscellaneous fabricated parts to ensure they meet customer, engineering, and ISO quality requirements. This role performs part inspections, supports ISO compliance, assists with internal audits, and works closely with production to identify and resolve quality issues.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or manufacturing training preferred
  • Hands-on experience using precision measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, tape measures, gauges, etc.) in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience in manufacturing quality inspection, preferably in steel fabrication or welding environments
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 or similar quality systems preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and documentation skills
  • Basic computer skills for recordkeeping and reporting

Responsibilities

  • Inspect steel reels and miscellaneous fabricated parts for conformance to drawings, specifications, and customer requirements
  • Perform in-process and final inspections using measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.)
  • Verify dimensions, weld quality, fit, finish, and material specifications
  • Document inspection results and maintain quality records
  • Support ISO quality management system requirements and documentation
  • Assist with internal ISO audits, including audit preparation, execution, and follow-up
  • Ensure inspection procedures and records comply with ISO standards
  • Help identify nonconformances and support corrective and preventive actions
  • Participate in scheduled internal audits across production and support areas
  • Assist in root cause analysis for quality issues
  • Work with production, engineering, and management to implement corrective actions
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and process consistency
  • Communicate quality issues clearly to production and supervision
  • Support first-article inspections and new or revised part introductions
  • Help train production employees on quality requirements and inspection standards
  • Promote a culture of quality and attention to detail on the shop floor
