About The Position

The Quality Technician ensures product and process conformance to quality standards by supporting inspections, calibration and laboratory systems, quality data analysis, documentation control, and continuous improvement activities. This role provides daily quality support to the manufacturing floor and works closely with customers to meet quality and performance requirements.

Requirements

  • High school diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience performing or inspecting stamped, brazed and/or machined manufactured parts

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial engineering from an accredited institution
  • 4 or more years’ experience performing or inspecting stamped, brazed and/or machined manufactured parts
  • Experience with international quality standards, lean manufacturing, statistical methods, blueprint reading and continuous improvement tools such as FMEA, DOE.
  • ASQ certifications
  • Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt certification
  • ERP systems experience: AS400, Minitab, SPC tools

Responsibilities

  • Perform inspections and measurements to verify material, component, and product conformance to engineering, regulatory, and customer requirements.
  • Prepare, maintain, and monitor quality and process performance documentation, including control plans, control charts, inspection reports, and related records.
  • Manage assigned calibration systems by performing calibrations, maintaining records, and ensuring compliance with established schedules and procedures.
  • Set up, program, maintain, and evaluate inspection equipment and gages to support production measurement needs.
  • Collect, monitor, and analyze quality and manufacturing data to identify trends and performance gaps, focusing on metrics such as DPPM, scrap, rework, warranty data, FPY, and OTD.
  • Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives using data-driven analysis and root cause methodologies to reduce defects and cost of poor quality.
  • Participate in cross-functional problem-solving efforts and support the development, implementation, and verification of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain and update quality procedures, work instructions, and forms to ensure standardized operations and document control.
  • Support laboratory operations by ensuring measurement equipment is calibrated, maintained, and operational; perform laboratory duties as needed and provide backup support for the Laboratory Technician role.
