About The Position

Join Serta Simmons Bedding as a Quality Technician II in our Greene/Coxsackie, NY plant, where you’ll play a key role in driving quality excellence and supporting high-volume production. How You'll Do It: Provide technical quality support for a multi-shift, high-volume production facility Support and promote a customer-focused quality culture through data collection, process monitoring, root cause analysis (RCA), and corrective action implementation Foster a strong safety culture by supporting safety policies and training in compliance with company programs and OSHA regulations to reduce workplace injuries Conduct quality auditing, including: Quality Management System (QMS) audits Product and process audits Facilitation of corrective actions Lead and manage root cause analysis (RCA), implement corrective actions, and escalate issues as needed Maintain plant quality metrics and dashboards; participate in plant quality reviews Ensure manufacturing quality by: Monitoring and reviewing error-proofing controls Supporting RCA and corrective actions Managing gauge control (calibration, specification, acquisition) Perform data collection, analysis, and lead improvement projects (Green Belt level) Support control, monitoring, and enhancements of the Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to improve quality performance Assist in training plant associates on QMS and Total Quality Management (TQM) principles Report and track supplier quality issues Support Advanced Quality Planning, including plant trials, reporting, and continuous improvements Drive continuous improvement efforts to enhance overall site quality performance and customer satisfaction Participate in and support SSB corporate quality initiatives

Requirements

  • Three or more years of relevant manufacturing experience, including at least one year in a quality role
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Certified Six Sigma Green Belt or actively working toward certification

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s degree in Manufacturing, Quality, Statistics, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Lean training or certification
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification
  • Experience with Minitab or similar statistical analysis software
  • Knowledge of spreadsheet and/or database software
  • Previous experience training or leading others
