About The Position

To coordinate quality related activities for site business units. While primarily a first shift assignment, shift hour designations, and/or shift rotations, may be reassigned for purposes of personnel coverage, staff training or other reasons in support of business needs.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years quality assurance or similar work assignment in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Two-year degree in relevant quality, engineering or related technical discipline
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to perform data management.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of quality systems (ISO9001:2015, IATF 16949, etc)
  • Proven expertise in quality tools such as Control Plans, Failure Mode Effects Analysis, Fishbone diagrams, Pareto charts, etc.
  • Strong leadership ability, project management and team facilitation skills
  • Knowledge and facility of use and operation of personal computer interface is required. Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Lotus Notes programs is preferred.
  • Mechanical aptitude suitable to understand and execute instructions on simple adjustments, measurements and settings with laboratory equipment is required. Must be comfortable working around and with mechanical equipment in a safe and productive manner.
  • Ability to lift and maneuver up to 40 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • American Society for Quality (ASQ) Quality Technician and Quality Auditor or other comparable professional training and certification is preferred.
  • Six Sigma experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Evaluating critical-to-quality characteristics for products and performing laboratory testing in support of manufacturing & development activities including sample preparation, instrument calibration & sample presentation
  • Updating quality system documentation and monitoring production activities that effect that product quality
  • Identifying opportunities for continuous quality & efficiency improvements and leading activities to address the items
  • Assisting operational personnel with duties as needed in assuring delivery reliability and product quality
  • Developing and implementing quality assurance procedures
  • Maintaining system that monitors supplier performance metrics
  • Communicating supplier issues to appropriate parties and coordinating material returns
  • Testing samples of various products and compiling the results
  • Providing lab analytical support for new product development
  • Creating quality plans and ensuring conformance to established standards
  • Analyzing critical to quality data and shaping actions based on the information
  • Preparing certificates of compliance for product shipments
  • Inspecting production processes to ensure conformance with established quality standards
  • Dispositioning suspect material
  • Performing quality management system audits
  • Investigating customer quality issues and initiating corrective actions
  • Verifying effectiveness of internal corrective actions
  • Developing material specifications
