About The Position

The Customer Quality Technician (QCT) plays a critical role within the Quality team, supporting the Customer Quality Engineering team. This role is a hands-on introduction to Quality Engineering. CQT will assist or own customer complaints and provide admin support to enhance our customer service. Working closely with our Quality Engineers, writing working instructions, supporting root cause investigations, running engineering trials and assisting with manufacturing improvements and implementation. In this role they will have the opportunity to learn many engineering principles, apply them in real time and build a foundation of engineering skills they can build on.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing, quality, or technical role.
  • Familiarity with Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T) and ISO/AS9100 standards is a plus.
  • Knowledge of corrective action process (8D’s)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, & PowerPoint) and ERP software (e.g., PLEX).
  • Strong understanding of measurement tools, including calipers, micrometers, and optical comparators.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and inspection standards.
  • Regular and consistent attendance is essential.

  • Lean training a plus
  • Experience in IATF 16949 preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in root cause investigations, data gathering, sample collection, and part verification for customer issues.
  • Focus on ownership of RMA’s, sort tracking, 8D updates and other Plex modules.
  • Create and revise PowerPoint presentations to enhance communication with customers and manufacturing teams, or for training purposes.
  • Help draft, edit, and organize corrective action documents (8Ds) under QE guidance (not assistant).
  • Assist with Layered Process audits, inspection checks, and error proofing  / corrective action.
  • Collaborate with engineering and manufacturing teams to find and fix gaps in work instruction documentation, measurement methods and instruction issues to improve overall quality.
  • Develop, create, and revise work instructions (QJIs), setup instructions, and visual aids.
  • Train manufacturing teams on QJI’s, quality procedures, measurement methods, measurement setup, and GD&T basics.
  • Support on-the-floor corrective action or process improvement effectiveness through audits and verification.
  • Perform tasks with minimal supervision, ensuring consistent adherence to safety, quality, and company protocols.
  • Ensure all company safety policies and procedures are followed by modeling safe behavior.
  • All other responsibilities as assigned by your supervisor.
