About The Position

Quality Technician Level 3 will be responsible for the inspection, testing, sorting, and sampling of all raw materials. Checking for defects and dimensions/variables out of specification utilizing appropriate precision measuring instruments and complex testing equipment. Analyzes the data to identify trends/patterns in the products with an eye for detail and a result driven approach. Maintains accurate records of routine inspections, tests, and any issues identified communicating the results verbally or in writing as required on time. The main function of a Quality Technician will be to mitigate risks and function as the voice of our customers’ satisfaction with personnel and supervision working in and with all the production team. They are to ensure that all Safety Regulations, Industry Standards and State Regulations are met, to maintain a distinguished working environment. They understand and will follow all the Cardinal Safety Rules, Tekniplex Safety Rules and read all of Quality JHAs as required. Communicates hazards and preventive actions. They will coach/educate employees on and correct issues with the quality equipment. They are mentors to all the Quality Staff and help out others in the department when needed. Has fulfilled all of Quality Level 1 & 2 requirements. Day Shift Day shift: 7:00 am - 7:00 pm Pay rate: Day shift: $19.00 hr

Responsibilities

  • Interpret inspection results and communicate all relevant findings to the operators and technicians recommending product adjustments, as necessary.
  • Read and interpret all the Production Technical Data Sheets.
  • Escalate any non-conformance or deviations to the Quality Lead or Supervisor and assist in the identification of the root cause, corrective action escalation process, and the Material Review Board (MRB) holding area.
  • Perform line clearance during product changeovers to mitigate all risk of intermixed products.
  • Understands and follows the product containment process.
  • Support the projects undertaken by the organization where the employee can add Disposition products and/or materials that do not meet product specifications or requirements. This includes labeling, BAAN System transfers and physical containment of non-conforming products or materials.
  • Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly (NCO) workstation and lab area.
  • Complete all assigned 5S cleaning and Maintenance at the end of each shift.
  • Maintain the Cleaning Master List.
  • Sampling/Testing per established sample plans.
  • Participate in the departmental meetings.
  • Attend all monthly Safety Meetings
  • Be able to Read and Operate Quality Equipment with guidance , including Instron Compression & Puncture, Olympus Microscope, Haze and Clarity Machine, Microtome & Slicer, Moisture Analyzer, Indicator, Micrometer, Scales, Feeler gauge, Millimeter Ruler, Height Gauge, GO/NOGO Gauge, Vacuum Sealer, Specific gravity Machine, Barcode Reader, Ball Impact Fixture, Keyence Static Reader, Metal Detection Verification, Nesting Device and all other new test that may be added.
  • Inspect, test, or measure materials, products and work practices for conformance to specifications utilizing materials such as drawings, test data, standard operating procedures and testing manuals.
  • Notify the Supervisor, Management and other Personnel of products non-conformance such as GMP, Cardinal Safety and Tekni-Plex Violations.
  • Assist in identifying and providing solutions to problems as the voice of our customers’ concerns. This includes communication of inspection results with those responsible for products and recommended necessary corrective action.
  • Conduct product inspections/testing per the products sampling plan.
  • Records associated test results electronically or manually utilizing software and forms provided for the test being performed.
  • Perform Quality and Process Systems Audits as scheduled and assigned.
  • Evaluate and advise if 3 rd party resources are needed to service equipment.
  • Perform verification of Process Critical Control Points (CCP’s) as outlined in the facility HACCP Manual.
  • Follow the Reaction Plans including communication and containment of non-conformance.
  • Report all work related injuries and near misses to supervision and management.
  • Must understand and follow all Tekniplex Cardinal Safety Rules and Dublin Plant Safety Rules.
  • Must report all Cardinal Safety Violations.
  • Must read, understand and sign all JHA’s related to the Quality Department.
  • Perform other related duties that contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by the Supervisor or Manager.
  • Understand the calibration Program and be able to identify when the equipment is out of calibration.
  • Be able to calibrate the equipment.
  • Repair and service measuring tools to ensure they are accurate and in calibrations.
  • Complete self-audits on data entries to ensure that the data reporting is accurate.
  • Program CMM (Microvu & Mitutoyo)
  • Operate Spectrodensitometer
  • Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, and work practices for conformance to specifications utilizing materials such as drawings, test data, standard operating procedures and testing manuals.
  • Be able to review data and verify if products are in specification.
  • Notify supervisor, management and other personnel of product or personnel of non-compliance such as GMP’s.
  • Assist in identifying and providing solutions as the voice of the customer (communicate inspection results with key stakeholders and recommend necessary corrective actions)
  • Conduct product inspections/testing per the product sampling plan.
  • Record the associated test results electronically or manually utilizing software and forms provided for the test being performed
  • Analyze and interpret blueprints, data manuals, and other materials to verify what , inspections and testing procedures, adjustment and certification methods, and gauges required.
  • Perform other related duties and act as a mentor to the Quality Department to contribute to the operations as assigned by the supervisor.
