About The Position

This position is responsible for coordinating and leading the in-line quality team to ensure that Quality specific tasks are completed and quality concerns are contained, controlled and escalated accordingly. Essential Functions : Primary contact for all quality issues and escalations in the assembly process. Primary trainer for Inline Associates on required quality tasks and processes Maintain safety standards: PPE, Hair, food (Stop work and immediately report any injury hazard) Ensure production and quality associates complete needed inspections and documents accordingly Remain up-to-date on all tasks and processes required of the inline quality team Willing to take on additional quality assurance requirements as needed. Maintain documents on the floor: Quality Alerts, forms Perform troubleshooting and containment for out of control conditions Review non-conforming material from all shifts (member of MRB) Research root cause of inaccuracies in notifications created by the quality assurance team. Authorized to override any decisions made to ship non-conforming product. Responsible for Quality Assurance reports at the end of the shift. Work with leadership to improve quality processes, gauging and containment procedures All employees are responsible for having an awareness and understanding of ISO 14001.

Requirements

  • Ability to lead and organize team to efficiently complete assigned tasks
  • Ability to communicate effectively both written and oral with all levels within the organization
  • Ability to collaborate with various departments to achieve shared goals
  • Ability to fully understand work instructions then train personnel with varying skill levels efficiently
  • Ability to work outside of scheduled shift to include a rotating week schedule
  • Understanding of IFNA Quality Management System (QMS) or IATF16949 automotive
  • High School diploma or general education degree (GED) - required
  • Minimum of 3 years working in manufacturing environment or quality certification
  • Computer competent, specifically with Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • Knowledge of basic mathematics skills
  • Knowledge of metric and English measurement systems
  • Basic understanding of industrial machines and gauges used components
  • Familiar with “lean” production concepts
  • Familiar with SAP
  • Familiar with reading and interpreting drawings
  • Must be able to walk/move about a 400,000 sq ft manufacturing facility
  • Must be able to stand/walk/move about specific work area: 90% of the time
  • Must be able to bend/reach/twist/stoop: 70% of the time
  • Must be able to lift up to 30lbs on a frequent basis: 40% of the time
  • Must be able to lift over 30lbs on an infrequent basis: 15% of the time
  • Must be able to sit at a work station: 0% of the time
  • Must be able to work and operate a computer terminal: 80% of the time
  • Vision is required to analyze and process work; and to work on computer terminal/machine centers, etc.
  • Hearing is essential for safety reasons; and to communicate with employees, supervisors, managers, vendors, suppliers and customers via conversation, group meetings, and/or phone conferences
  • Must be able to work with oils/solvents/cleaners
  • Must be able to work any shift as required including overtime as needed
