About The Position

This role will be responsible for supporting the quality and food safety needs of the global business.  This position, as part of the Quality Department, will lead in the collection, analysis and interpretation of complex data from a variety of data management sources (e.g., databases, Application Program Interfaces/APIs, etc.), in support of each Business Unit (Chobani, La Colombe, Daily Harvest), to help the Corporate and Site Quality Teams to monitor products/processes, seek out hidden insights/patterns/trends in data and improve operational processes.  This role will lead in creating machine-learning models, visualizing results and reporting key learnings to stakeholders in order to not only  assist in root cause analyses but also make informed decisions on how to prevent product and process non-conformances and to preserve and protect product quality and food safety.   This role combines data analysis with food science expertise to drive innovation and efficiency in business.   The role may be based at the South Edmeston, NY plant; or the Rome, NY plant upon completion or  Twin Falls, ID plant; Candidates currently residing in Upstate New York may be eligible for a remote work arrangement. Travel is expected to be approximately 50%, based on business needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or Master’s degree preferred, in a quantitative field such as statistics, computer science, mathematics, physics, or engineering
• 3+ years of experience in data analytics. Experience in the food industry is preferred
• Strong knowledge of statistical methods including hypothesis testing, time series analysis, and regression analysis
• Proficiency in programming languages with hands-on experience using data manipulation libraries
• Experience with data management tools such as SQL, data visualization tools such as Power BI, and AI-enabled analytics
• Working knowledge of database management systems, data warehousing, and ETL processes
• Experience working with enterprise systems and applications such as SAP, Microsoft Office and SharePoint, and LIMS
• Strong understanding of business strategy and how data informs decision-making
• Proven ability to analyze large, complex data sets and translate insights into actionable recommendations
• Ability to visualize data clearly and effectively based on the audience and objective
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
• Excellent technical writing skills
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively across functions
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
• Demonstrated curiosity and commitment to staying current with evolving analytics tools and technologies
• Ability to conduct data-related work in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and ethical standards

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data owners to improve data management processes.
• Collect data through means such as analyzing business results or by setting up and managing new studies
• Employ statistical and machine learning methods to analyze and evaluate data to uncover insights that measure product and process performance and inform business decisions.
• Create and update dashboards and reports to monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and update stakeholders on progress and performance.
• Search through large data sets to extract data insights and trends related to food products, manufacturing processes, and consumer behavior. 
• Correlate similar data to find actionable results and provide insights to Global and Regional Quality groups.
• Collaborate with IT Business Intelligence Team to seek out and develop tools/programming to automate data collection.  Create forecasting and optimization models that can be used for predictive analytics.  
• Lead in shaping the digital Quality & Food Safety strategy (e.g., Supply Chain data analytics/predictive quality, data access, data cleansing, systems harmonization).
