Lead, provide direction, coach, and develop inspection technicians; manage daily work assignments, priorities, and coverage, including scheduling Inspection Technicians to match production schedules. Conduct performance reviews, skills assessments, and targeted cross‑training to build a flexible team. Enforce safety, quality, and 5S standards; model disciplined problem‑solving and data-driven decisions. Create, review, and train personnel on applicable Quality Alerts. Plan and execute final inspection against drawings, inspection recipes, BOMs, routings, control plans, and customer specifications. Verify conformance of mechanical and electrical build (fit, finish, torque, labeling, wiring, terminations) Initiate and track corrective/preventive actions (CAPA); verify effectiveness and timely closure. Use structured problem-solving (e.g., 8D, Fishbone, 5‑Why) to prevent recurrence. Analyze inspection data to identify trends; drive improvements in first‑pass yield (FPY), defect rates, and cycle time. Partner with Manufacturing/Engineering to optimize control plans, checklists, gauge R&R, and error‑proofing. Support lean initiatives (visual management, standard work, layered audits). Maintain accurate, complete inspection records in QMS. Prepare for and support internal/external audits. Be a working supervisor of inspection technicians and partner with the broader cross-functional value stream team to continually improve quality processes. Work closely with manufacturing engineering, and other cross-functional partners, to resolve quality issues and improve processes. Be directly responsible and accountable for performance of duties, having the authority to take necessary action to address any quality issues. Own quality results together with all value stream teams.
