About The Position

Responsible for supervising all quality shift employees including daily work, training, retention, performance and safety. This position also assists the Director of Quality in achieving positive results in all customer satisfaction and plant quality line goals while continuously looking for ways to improve quality processes.

Requirements

  • Complete understanding of the tempering fabrication processes, the glass industry, plant procedures and logistics.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead people and results oriented.
  • Effective time management and planning skills.
  • Strong understanding of quality and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and prepare action plans to achieve results.
  • Strong team player and group leader.
  • Proficient with measurements, mathematics, fractions and strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to compare drawing fabrication to final product.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or comparable work experience

Responsibilities

  • Supervises eight to ten quality auditors and quality line inspectors including interviewing, training, planning and assigning work, retention, safety, performance and discipline.
  • Works to design career paths and structures expectations for quality employees.
  • Collaborates with the Director of Quality to ensure quality goals are being met and acts as a sounding board for new ideas, process updates and escalation.
  • Monitors daily production for product quality and provides trouble-shooting assistance for process and equipment issues.
  • Monitors internal and external rework orders through both the tempering process and fabrication department.
  • Monitors supplier quality issues and leads the investigations to establish root cause and corrective actions.
  • Monitors quality issues for orders as they are routed through the internal loading and shipping process.
  • Analyzes internal and external quality defects and provides feedback to the hourly team.
  • Prepares reports for upper management and other departments to highlight quality performance on an ongoing and as needed basis.
  • Creates and maintains a positive work environment in your department and building a strong team to be proud of.
  • All other duties as assigned.
