This Position reports to: Quality Control Manager In this role, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the highest standards of quality are maintained throughout the production or service delivery process. You will be overseeing and implementing quality control measures, conducting inspections, and collaborating with various departments to address and resolve quality-related issues. You will also be responsible for developing and maintaining quality assurance procedures, managing a team of quality inspectors, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance overall product or service quality. This is an on-site position with work hours from 10:45pm - 6:30am. This role is contributing to the ABB Electrification Smart Power division in the United States.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 3+ years of manufacturing production experience.
  • Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Nice To Haves

  • Proven manufacturing supervisory skills with ability to train, instruct, and motivate employees preferred.
  • Quality and continuous process improvement experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Quality Assurance and Team Development: Provide strategic leadership to the QA team, foster a quality-focused culture, and manage training, performance evaluations, and team motivation.
  • Ensure Compliance Through Inspection and Testing: Oversee inspections, audits, and testing processes to maintain adherence to quality standards, and collaborate across departments to resolve issues promptly.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Partner with Quality Engineers to identify improvement opportunities, implement efficiency-enhancing measures, and promote best practices for quality enhancement.
  • Manage Documentation, Reporting, and Cross-Functional Collaboration: Maintain accurate QA records, prepare performance reports, and work closely with production, engineering, and other teams to integrate quality measures seamlessly.
