Naik Group is seeking a Quality Specialist to support complex public-sector infrastructure and transportation projects throughout NYC and Tri-State region. This role will work on projects with agencies such as the New York City Department of Design and Construction (DDC), Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), New York City Department of Transportation (NYCDOT), and other state and municipal clients. The ideal candidate has hands-on construction QA/QC experience, strong knowledge of public agency standards, and the ability to implement and maintain project-specific Quality Assurance Plans (QAP) in active field environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in quality assurance/quality control within construction, engineering, or infrastructure projects.
  • Direct experience working on NYC public agency projects (e.g., transportation, transit, roadway, bridge, or utility infrastructure).
  • Strong understanding of construction specifications, contract documents, and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with field inspections, documentation review, and corrective action tracking.
  • Proficiency with document management systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • ASQ, ACI, ICC, NACE, AWS certifications are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain Project Quality Management Plans (QMPs) in alignment with client and agency requirements.
  • Monitor compliance with NYC public agency standards (e.g., DOT, transit, and other city/state authorities).
  • Conduct audits, inspections, and field verifications to ensure work meets contract documents and regulatory requirements.
  • Track and manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and preventive measures.
  • Coordinate quality documentation including submittals, test reports, material certifications, and closeout packages.
  • Support internal and external audits, including agency and third-party reviews.
  • Collaborate with construction managers, resident engineers, inspectors, and design teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Review contractor quality control procedures and monitor adherence to approved plans.
  • Maintain document control systems and ensure accurate project recordkeeping.
  • Assist in preparing reports for agency stakeholders and executive leadership.
