About The Position

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Construction Quality Control Specialist in the United States. This role offers the opportunity to serve as the on-site quality control lead for large-scale environmental construction and remediation projects across the U.S. You will oversee compliance with construction specifications, manage daily QC activities, and coordinate closely with project managers, technical staff, clients, and subcontractors. Traveling approximately 70% of the time, you will ensure that all materials, equipment, and processes meet regulatory and project standards. This position provides significant responsibility in shaping project outcomes, documenting QC performance, and maintaining high safety and quality standards. Ideal candidates are experienced in heavy construction or remediation sites, have strong communication skills, and are adept at leading teams in field-based environments. The role combines technical expertise, regulatory knowledge, and hands-on project leadership. This position is fully remote but requires extensive travel to project locations in both Eastern and Western U.S. regions.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of experience as a Construction Quality Control Manager for USACE projects.
  • At least 5 years of construction management experience on large-scale projects involving heavy equipment and excavation activities.
  • Current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and 8-hour refresher.
  • USACE Construction Quality Manager for Contractors (CQM-C) certification.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prepare and maintain project documentation and technical reports.
  • Experience inspecting, testing, and documenting environmental remediation activities.
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Willingness and ability to travel approximately 70% of the time to project sites.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering or a related technical field preferred.
  • Experience with chlorinated solvents, heavy metals, PFAS, and generating technical deliverables is a plus.
  • Familiarity with USACE Resident Management System (RMS) or QCS is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the on-site lead for project quality control, ensuring compliance with specifications, drawings, and project deliverables.
  • Coordinate and communicate with project managers, technical staff, clients, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Perform daily QC checks, tests, and inspections, confirming all materials and equipment are approved for use.
  • Identify, document, and track QC deficiencies, ensuring timely corrective actions.
  • Organize and maintain project records, including QC reports, inspections, submittal registers, and meeting notes.
  • Oversee soil excavation, backfill, and restoration activities, maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Lead internal and client-facing meetings, preparing agendas and reporting on QC performance and project progress.
