About The Position

UPS, a Fortune Global 500 organization, is one of the world's largest providers of transportation and logistics services. Their Global Logistics and Distribution business unit offers comprehensive logistics services and warehousing solutions through a global network of distribution centers, innovative technology, and supply chain expertise. The Quality Specialist supports daily operational quality requirements, ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards. This role involves performing process audits, collecting and analyzing quality data, generating daily reports for the operations team, and contributing to continuous improvement efforts using Lean methodologies. The Quality Specialist actively participates in Gemba walks, Kaizen events, and other Continuous Improvement activities to foster operational excellence and consistent adherence to established processes.

Requirements

  • Requires at least a year of experience in Warehousing Shipping & Receiving
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Must be currently located in the same geographic location as the job
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National of the U.S., an alien lawfully admitted for permanent residence, or an alien authorized to work in the U.S. for this employer

Responsibilities

  • Support all requirements related to AS9100 certification, documentation, and audit readiness.
  • Conduct regular process audits across the operation to ensure compliance with procedures, work instructions, and quality standards.
  • Assist in maintaining controlled documents, standard work, and audit evidence.
  • Pull, review, and validate quality data from internal systems.
  • Prepare and distribute daily quality reports for operations and leadership teams.
  • Identify trends, recurring issues, and opportunities for improvement through data analysis.
  • Support ongoing Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Participate actively in Gemba walks to observe processes, identify waste, and drive corrective actions.
  • Take part in Kaizen events focused on improving workflow, reducing defects, and enhancing overall process efficiency.
  • Assist supervisors and leads in root-cause analysis and corrective action closures.
  • Act as a quality resource on the floor, partnering with front-line supervisors to address issues in real time.
  • Provide coaching on adherence to process standards, quality expectations, and documentation requirements.
  • Help ensure that product handling, material flow, and production processes align with customer and regulatory standards.
