About The Position

The Quality and Production Supervisor is responsible for leading quality assurance and control efforts within the production environment, ensuring all products meet internal specifications and customer requirements. This role maintains and improves quality systems, drives process consistency, and leads root cause analysis and corrective actions to reduce defects and waste. While supporting daily production activities, the position prioritizes quality outcomes by overseeing inspections, managing customer quality issues, and developing team capability. The Quality Supervisor partners cross-functionally with operations, engineering, and leadership to promote a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and compliance. Assists in supervising employees across multiple shifts and troubleshooting issues within the production environment.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Three or more years of manufacturing or production experience required
  • Two years of direct supervisory or team leadership experience preferred
  • Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma experience
  • Proven experience managing change
  • ISO 9001/14001 experience
  • Experience coaching teams to better performance via continuous improvement methodologies
  • Experience with standard work and ensuring standards are maintained
  • Ability to perform and lead root cause analysis
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with coworkers, customers, and vendors.
  • Accurately document and record information in a clear and usable manner.
  • Maintain attention to detail, perform basic math functions, and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Utilize computer systems and standard office equipment to complete daily tasks.
  • Work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform multiple tasks with accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist with supervising employees across multiple shifts and troubleshooting production-related issues.
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs periodically.
  • Ability to work in both office and plant environments, including standing, walking, sitting, reaching, and handling materials.
  • Ability to stoop, bend, and reach overhead as needed to perform job duties.
  • Ability to accurately distinguish and identify colors to ensure product quality and adherence to established standards and specifications.
  • Move throughout the facility as needed to support operations and communicate with team members.
  • Maintain professional and appropriate workplace appearance.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree or equivalent experience in management or production related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate employee compliance, safety, quality, productivity policies, programs, and procedures.
  • Actively inspect products to ensure they meet all specifications in regard to quality
  • Assess, investigate, and communicate any undesirable results concerning quality and customer satisfactions
  • Monitor production’s conformance with Quality Assurance standards and procedures.
  • Suggest methods for improving product quality or design, or manufacturing process
  • Conduct quality assurance training for employees engaged in materials handling or product assembly
  • Inspect, analyze, and report on test models or new products.
  • Supervise and develop operators including training, performance management, and coaching.
  • Foster a culture of accountability and ownership around quality across the production floor.
  • Ensure clear communication of quality expectations between shifts and departments.
  • Assist with maintaining accurate written records for employees, including raw, in-process, and finished goods production reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
