About The Position

The Quality Manager champions a best-in-class Quality Management System and leads company wide initiatives that ensure 100% out-of-box product quality. This role also carries technical and product responsibility for serial instruments, including performance, specifications, compliance, and lifecycle quality. You will serve as the organization’s primary quality authority, partnering across R&D, Production, Customer Support, and Corporate Compliance to drive continuous improvement, manage risk, and strengthen the quality culture including:  Reviewing and enhancing the existing quality process and practice  implementing, tracking and monitoring quality metrics throughout the organization to ensure it is achieving its goal of 100% out-of-box quality Ensuring company wide compliance with ISO 9001 and that all process controls are in place to achieve the highest level of product quality in design, manufacturing and service The Quality Manager is also responsible all technical matters related Anton Paar QuantaTec products including: Product responsibility for serial instruments (function, specification, quality, costs)  Project responsibility during product development projects and especially serial transition  Technical responsibility for customer projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical discipline
  • 5-7 years of practical experience in quality management and / or quality assurance; preferably in a highly standardized environment such as manufacturing, automotive, aerospace or medical devices
  • Past experience managing a certified QMS (i.e., ISO 9001:2015)
  • Needs to have a strong understanding and experience with quality principles, tools and respective methodologies (i.e., Root Cause Analysis, Lean / Lean Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, etc.), and be a change agent
  • Must have strong business acumen and excellent written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and develop team members through regular coaching, feedback, and performance guidance
  • Lead company wide quality improvement initiatives (Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma) to elevate product and process performance
  • Serve as the primary resource for quality problem identification, resolution, and continuous improvement
  • Establish and maintain strong cross-functional partnerships to drive quality and compliance initiatives
  • Report quality performance, trends, and losses to leadership
  • Manage the Quality Management System and support corporate audit activities
  • Ensure full compliance with ISO 9001 and corporate risk management processes
  • Design, implement, and document procedures for process control, testing, inspection, and improvement
  • Participate in internal and external quality audits
  • Ensure instrument safety and compliance with evolving norms and standards
  • Implement and monitor quality metrics to achieve 100% out-of-box quality
  • Establish best-practice metrics including process capability, control charts, and measurement system quality
  • Develop statistical data collection and analysis systems to predict and improve product quality trends
  • Prepare and present product and process quality reports
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective action initiatives
  • Identify and lead initiatives that drive quality improvement and cost reduction
  • Hold product responsibility for serial instruments (function, specifications, quality, costs)
  • Lead quality involvement during development projects and serial transition
  • Provide technical leadership for customer projects and technical change approvals
  • Maintain responsibility for instrument-specific technical and quality specifications
  • Lead systematic error analysis and solution development to maintain product and process quality
  • Monitor production costs and drive cross-functional improvement projects
  • Act as the key link between Development, Production, and Customer Support
  • Support concurrent engineering and represent Quality in product development
  • Oversee quality activities during R&D transition to manufacturing
  • Train Customer Support, Repair, Assembly, QA, and other teams as needed
  • Assist Incoming QA Inspectors and Assembly Technicians in problem solving
  • Schedule and assign quality assurance work and follow up on results
  • Manage company quality control training and education programs
  • Support corporate compliance and risk management processes
  • Travel domestically and internationally up to 10%
