The Quality Engineering Team at Nutanix is a dynamic group dedicated to driving excellence in quality engineering and operations. Based in San Jose, this team fosters a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement, with a mission to enhance customer-perceived quality across all products and services. Team members are encouraged to leverage their expertise and creativity to implement AI-enabled transformation initiatives that elevate the organization's quality ecosystem, aligning practices across various functions and stakeholders. You will report to the Sr Director of Engineering, who is known for a collaborative leadership style that emphasizes empowerment and open communication. The work setup for this role is hybrid, requiring the successful candidate to be in the office for a minimum of three days per week, allowing for both in-person collaboration and flexible work arrangements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field; master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of leadership experience and 12+ years in quality assurance, system testing, and automation.
  • Strong background in quality engineering and proven ability to manage release testing and drive quality improvements.
  • Hands-on experience with AI/ML to enhance QA practices, including regression testing and predictive analytics.
  • Deep understanding of virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware vSphere, Nutanix AHV).
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities, with capacity to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Familiarity with automation frameworks and quality tools, with a focus on AI-driven testing solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Drive quality operations and testing activities, providing executive updates on quality health and release testing convergence.
  • Establish and advocate for quality metrics and dashboards to measure test effectiveness, efficiency, and overall product quality.
  • Optimize QE-owned infrastructure through collaboration with IT and quality leaders to enhance operational efficiencies.
  • Lead the adoption of AI-driven practices in testing, accelerating regression testing, defect triage, and release validation.
  • Track customer-perceived quality measures and analyze customer-found defects, ensuring alignment with quality leaders to drive closure.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure comprehensive QE coverage and provide feedback on quality issues.
  • Integrate customer feedback into quality strategy, delivering actionable insights to enhance customer trust and satisfaction.
  • Influence and partner with stakeholders across the organization to align quality goals with overall business objectives.

Benefits

  • The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between USD $148,000 and USD $296,400 per year.
  • The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
