About The Position

Riggs Cat is seeking a proactive and results-driven Quality/Mechanical Engineer (Lean Focused) with a strong foundation in Lean principles to lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across our operations. This role is ideal for someone passionate about driving operational excellence, reducing waste, and enhancing client satisfaction through data-driven problem solving and team collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial, Mechanical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Minor or certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement required.
  • 5+ years of experience in quality or process engineering roles.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and coaching skills.
  • Proficiency in Lean tools (e.g., A3, Fishbone, 5 Whys, PDCA).

Responsibilities

  • Champion Lean methodologies across departments to improve workflow, reduce waste, and enhance value delivery to clients.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events, 5S initiatives, and value stream mapping sessions.
  • Develop and implement standard work procedures and visual management tools.
  • Mentor team members on Lean thinking and problem-solving techniques.
  • Track and report on Lean project outcomes and ROI.
  • Work hand in hand with outside vendors to ensure we are continuously improving.
  • Analyze operational data to identify trends, root causes, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Lead corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes for internal and client-facing issues.
  • Collaborate with service and parts teams to ensure quality standards are met and sustained.
  • Support ISO compliance and internal audits.
  • Develop and maintain quality documentation, including control plans and inspection criteria.
