About The Position

Our team is expanding and looking to hire a Lean Industrial Engineer. We are looking for a dynamic and driven candidate interested in joining a fast-growing global company in the automotive sector. The Lean Industrial Engineer – Continuous Improvement analyzes and optimizes manufacturing processes to eliminate waste, improve efficiency, designing ergonomic workstations, training teams and reduce costs using Lean methodologies like Kaizen, 5S, and Value Stream Mapping. Developing standard work, performing time studies, leading continuous improvement projects that result in measurable cost savings while ensuring quality, safety, and productivity standards are met or exceeded.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, or related field.
  • Proven experience in AI, continuous improvement, process engineering, or operations (manufacturing/production environment preferred).
  • Strong background in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and/or other improvement methodologies (certifications preferred).
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable cost savings.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities
  • Strong technical ability with knowledge of materials and manufacturing and assembly processes

Nice To Haves

  • AI (Artificial Intelligence): Knowledge and ability to develop AI/ML models and systems to automate tasks, generate insights, and solve complex problems by analyzing large datasets and applying algorithms.
  • Lean Principles: Deep understanding of Lean manufacturing methodologies and Six Sigma tools.
  • Data Analysis: Ability to interpret complex data and use statistical analysis to drive decisions.
  • Project Management: Experience leading and managing Lean projects from conception to completion.
  • Training & Coaching: Ability to coach and train teams on problem-solving methods and Lean practices.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of engineering principles, including process design, design layout, equipment, and tooling.
  • Process mapping and optimization: Experience leading to improve productivity, cost reduction, and better customer satisfaction.
  • Root cause analysis (RCA): Ability to handle systematic problem-solving method used to identify the fundamental underlying causes of a problem rather than just addressing its symptoms.
  • Cost-benefit analysis and ROI calculation: Ability to compares the total expected costs and benefits of a project, initiative, or decision to determine its feasibility and value.
  • Change management: Able to lead internal and external engineering changes successfully.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Able to collaborate with engineering, production, quality, and other teams to implement initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Process Optimization: Analyze workflows, identify bottlenecks, and implement process improvements to enhance quality and productivity. Work closely with engineering, production, supply chain, and quality teams to ensure sustainable solutions.
  • Waste Reduction: Lead efforts to eliminate waste (Muda) in all its forms, such as overproduction, waiting, and excess inventory, using Lean principles.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive a culture of continuous improvement (Kaizen) through projects, workshops, and training on Lean tools.
  • Lean Tool Implementation: Deploy and train others on specific Lean techniques, including 5S, Six Sigma, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, standard work, visual management, and Set Up Reduction (SMED).
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze production data, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and statistical information to identify opportunities for improvement and justify changes.
  • Ergonomics & Safety: Conduct ergonomic analyses and develop corrective actions to improve worker safety and performance.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain standard work documentation and process maps.
  • Stay Current with Advancements: Continuously research and learn about new AI tools, techniques, and frameworks to enhance scalability and efficiency.
  • Cost Savings: Identify, evaluate, and implement cost-saving opportunities through process improvements, waste reduction, and resource optimization. Monitor and report annual cost savings
  • Cycle time: Analyze production and operational data to pinpoint inefficiencies, bottlenecks, and waste drivers.
  • Standardize: Standardize best practices and ensure consistent application across all operations.
