Our SDG team in Chatsworth, CA is eagerly looking for a Quality Manufacturing Inspector to join their dynamic team. You report to our Quality Manager and enjoy an on-site, collaborative working environment. As a Quality Manufacturing Inspector, you will add incredible value to the team by holding responsibility for:

Requirements

  • A 2-year technical degree OR a High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment
  • 3+ years of quality experience inside a manufacturing machine shop
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • A firm understanding of basic quality terminology, definitions and concepts
  • Familiarity with and understanding of statistical terms and techniques, measurement terminology, and calibration tools

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Zeiss is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Function as an aid to the manufacturing process, inspecting, monitoring and determining the quality of processes, outputs and components
  • Provide general CMM inspection support for fabricated or machined parts from various departments as required in the shop.
  • Run CMM inspection programs and perform manual inspection for simple and complex parts, components, and assemblies while ensuring the integrity of CMM inspection results.
  • Assist machinists in the use and care of inspection equipment, interpretation of drawings and other quality related activities
  • Conduct in-process quality inspection in compliance with specifications, quality standards and regulatory requirements; troubleshooting and/or reporting deviations and defects to leadership
