Job Purpose/Summary: The Quality Manager serves as Supernal’s quality representative, ensuring that quality system implementation and compliance controls align with 14 CFR Part 21 requirements and AS9100 aerospace quality standards. This role works closely with quality, engineering, manufacturing, and certification teams to understand QMS architecture, nonconformance control, supplier quality management, conformity verification, and production acceptance processes. Acting as a quality integration focal point, the position ensures that document control, inspection and test systems, CAPA processes, and compliance data controls support regulatory traceability and audit readiness. In addition, the role leads the internalization of FAA-aligned and AS9100-compliant quality governance frameworks into Supernal, translating practices into scalable and certifiable systems. The position supports Applicant readiness by identifying systemic quality gaps and escalating material quality risks impacting certification or production approval readiness. Job Level: The role is posted at a Level 4; however, the role will be compensated commensurate with experience. Location: International Expat

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in aerospace, quality engineering, or related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of eight (5) years of experience in aerospace quality systems.
  • Strong knowledge of 14 CFR Part 21 quality system requirements, including document control, inspection and test control, nonconformance management, and corrective action systems.
  • Experience supporting certification programs and quality oversight activities in Type Certificate or Production Approval contexts.
  • Experience supporting supplier quality management, conformity verification.
  • Working knowledge of internal audit, regulatory surveillance, and audit readiness frameworks.
  • Ability to evaluate QMS compliance with FAA Part 21 requirements.
  • Capability to assess nonconformance control, CAPA systems, and root cause investigation.
  • Strong understanding of conformity determination and airworthiness-related quality controls.
  • Ability to analyze quality system interfaces across design, production, certification functions.
  • Capability to identify systemic quality risks impacting certification or production readiness.
  • Sound technical judgment in evaluating quality impacts of design or process changes.
  • Ability to support regulatory audits and maintain compliance traceability.
  • Clear and structured communication skills in regulatory and cross-functional environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with AS9100-based quality systems and FAA certification environments preferred.
  • Experience in aircraft, rotorcraft, or advanced mobility programs is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Review and assess Quality Management System (QMS) for compliance with 14 CFR Part 21 quality system requirements, including document control, inspection and test procedures, and corrective action processes.
  • Lead the structured transfer and internalization of FAA-aligned quality governance frameworks, including Quality Manual structures and compliance oversight mechanisms.
  • Evaluate implementation of nonconformance control, corrective and preventive action (CAPA), root cause investigation, and systemic corrective action tracking processes.
  • Ensure configuration control, compliance data control, and approved design data incorporation processes are aligned with Type Design and certification obligations.
  • Assess supplier quality management systems, including supplier approval, flow-down requirements, inspection controls, and conformity verification processes.
  • Monitor inspection and test control systems, calibration programs, and production acceptance procedures for alignment with regulatory expectations.
  • Evaluate internal audit programs and quality assurance surveillance activities to ensure regulatory traceability and audit readiness.
  • Ensure quality interfaces between design, manufacturing, and certification organizations support conformity determination and airworthiness release requirements.
  • Identify quality system gaps, systemic control deficiencies, or governance breakdowns impacting certification compliance or production approval readiness.
  • Escalate material quality system nonconformances or regulatory compliance risks affecting Applicant obligations.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally.
